Elsa Mosquera Sterling is the co-founder and creative force behind Ágora Cultural Architects, founded in 2019 to empower and sustain Latin American cultural creators in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. A visionary arts administrator and strategist, she develops innovative solutions to make communities more just, creative, and equitable. After Hurricane María, she co-founded the Massachusetts for Puerto Rico Fund at The Boston Foundation, raising $4 million for reconstruction efforts. Elsa holds a B.A. from Fordham University, an MBA from New York University, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Harvard University. Through Ágora, she secured two major Mellon Foundation grants totaling $2.5 million to launch BoriCorridor, a multi-city touring and networking initiative for Puerto Rican artists. She has also led programs such as Latinx Sounds & Flavors and Fiesta en la Plaza in Boston. In recognition of her cultural leadership, she received the ArtsEmerson Champion Award (2024) and the Boston City Council’s Pilares de la Hispanidad Award (2025).
