Dr. Manuel Antonio Morán is an award-winning Puerto Rican director, producer, composer, actor, and educator. A versatile artist and visionary cultural leader, he has dedicated his career to creating bilingual, socially engaged, and artistically innovative musical theatre that amplifies Latiné voices across generations. He holds degrees from the University of Puerto Rico and New York University (NYU), where he earned a Ph.D. in Educational Theater and advanced studies in Musical Theater, along with specialized training in the United States, Spain, and the United Kingdom. For nearly four decades, as Founder and Artistic Director of Teatro SEA (Society of the Educational Arts, Inc.), Dr. Morán has transformed the company into the leading bilingual TYA Latiné theater in the United States, with offices in New York City, Puerto Rico, and Florida. He also founded El Musical, dedicated to developing and investing in new Latiné musicals, and co-created, with the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico (CMPR), the first Bachelor’s Degree in Musical Theatre in Puerto Rico, and one of its kind in Latin America.
